After a match in which Scottish Thistles had failed to break down a stubborn French defence in spite of incessant pressure, the semi final was decided by a penalty flick shoot out. All four of the Scottish Thistles flicks found the net while keeper George Black saved two of the French flicks to put Scottish Thistles into the final against Wales. Sweeper Chisholm was man enough for the task of finishing off the French with the fourth Scottish flick.
